Auction: Seller Policy

I should note to anyone planning on bring items to the auction: We want
to encourage all of our members to bring stuff of all types to sell.
In case you didn't know, club members receive a 60% split!

But, there is now a 20-lot limit per member, and only members can receive
the 60% split. At least one person asked me for clarification on this
policy in advance, so I'm pre-announcing here.

  * There's no limitation on how you specify each lot, so you could have
5, 10, 100 bags of fish in a single lot if you want. But if you do this,
remember that's how we'll sell it, as 100 bags of fish, to one highest
bidder. please keep multi-item lots taped together, or in a larger bag,
or utilizing some other creative means of grouping them.

  * The limit doesn't apply to donations, only to items you want the 60%
split on. You can bring anything you want as donations, because we can
combine or split lots there as needed.

  * If you are not a member, we'll just use the first $12 of your 60%
split as your membership fee. Congratulations, you're a member now!
(If you're a non-member and bring stuff that brings in less than $20,
we'll see...)

  * If you're not a member and you donate stuff to the auction, make sure
to give us your address, because, congratulations, you're now a member
too!

Why are we doing this (the 20-item limit part)? Experience has shown
there's always at least one person every year who brings in 50 bags of
gravel or 50 light fixtures or 50 bags of fertilizer or 50 bags of
guppies... (it's always a different person each time, so don't feel bad
Sam!) We only have the room technically until 10 PM, and this often
becomes the most difficult part of the evening. Gotta keep things moving!

The rest:

No seller forms needed this year. Just bring your items ready to tag.
Since we've gone to barcodes, we tag each item and enter the items into
the computer when you register. But please keep in mind that it takes
time to do this, so come EARLY (like 6:30 or so) with your items. If you
show up late, we will get your items entered AS TIME ALLOWS. We will have
a couple of computers near the entrance (working this time, I promise!)
for just this purpose. Please don't take them to the auctioneering table
and expect us to stop the auction for you! Thanks.

Any more questions? Feel free to ask. See you at the auction!
