Tues Rainbow Fish

Hi all,

This is just a reminder that Tuesday we are thrilled to have Gary Lange
speaking on Rainbow fish.

He is bringing eggs to hatch on several cool and rare Rainbow fish and has
a great talk to give on them as well. There are two bags of fry as well.

Gary is head of the Rainbow Study Group...well let me put in his bio, see
below. Very experienced, knowledgeable and approachable speaker. So come
and ask all of your questions, and maybe go home with some new fish!!!

For those of you interested, we will be having dinner with Gary before the
meeting on Tuesday. (probably Ivars), just email me and let me know, and
I can get back to you with time and location etc. Also I need a number to
do reservations. Anyone is welcome to come hang out.

See you Tuesday!!! Meeting starts at 7:30, social time before at 7pm!!
(and after).

Kathy

Gary Lange, March 12th
Our next meeting, March 12, will feature Gary Lange speaking on
Rainbowfish. Gary is a research biochemist for Pharmacia in St. Louis. He
has been keeping fish since he was 10 and has been associated with the
organized hobby for the last 19 years. He is a member of the Missouri
Aquarium Society (MASI) and has held various positions including '93 show
chairman for a show that saw over 5,000 visitors. He is a grand master
breeder in MASI, (one of only twelve in the history of the club), and has
taken the coveted "Best Fish In Show" on four different occasions, twice
with rainbowfish.

In the fall of 1987 he started the Rainbowfish Study Group of North
America (RSG). He started in fish photography mainly because there weren't
many quality pictures of his beloved rainbowfish. He has had his pictures
published in FAMA, TFH and AFM. He is the principal photographer for the
Rainbowfish Study group.

He is currently running about 70 tanks and keeping about 30 varieties of
rainbows and blue-eyes. You can get more information on rainbowfish at the
RSG's website.

Gary will be bringing some vials of eggs, so if you are interested in
hatching them, please see his article on hatching eggs so you'll be
prepared.
