big old filters

I bought some of those old filters at the auction. 
I'm looking at the pieces and I realise that I really
dont remember how they go togther, I know i had
something like this for my jack dempsies when I was a
kid but I just can't remember how to put it together.

Does anyone know where I can find some pictures or
diagrams...?  I'm sure it's obvious and I will feel
silly, but I guess I'm afraid I will put them to
gether wrong and either get water all over or
electocute myself...
