Re: Any volunteers?

When you buy the GE silicon avoid the type marked kitchen and bath. It contains the toxic chemical (forget which ones) that help it prevent mold and mildew.

Oh sure. You can bring it here to Bellevue if you want. I'm moving up North. It would involved cleaning the tank real good, with ammonia, a degreaser, then going over the clean excisting seals with the tube of clear silicon. I can't guarentee the success of the "operation", but I did get my steel framer to stop leaking. Haven't tried out the other one I got from June and resealed. Now that the weather is good, I could fill it up on the patio and let you know. I would be happy to do it for you if you or others don't feel up to the task. I bought the 100% clear plain silicon, by GE this time from Lowe's hardware. I have an applicator gun, like for redoing the seals around bathtubs. I'm going to try that project out as well. I am testing out the seals for toxicity with some goldfish since the quarentined sick discus died in the tank.
