Hello All: I have two orphan fish from the Fish Store: A large black female(?) anglefish and a Marlboro Red Discus. The angelfish is a veil-tail and has a bright red eye, blue by the face, and copperish undertones on the rest of the body. She does like eat little fish I believe, as she attacked the bag with the small tetras in it, that I won from the last meeting. She is very good with discus. The discus was brought up in bad conditions, so he is missing a small part of his left-bottom gill plate. His top fin is starting to grow the front rays, so he might look normal after all. He has nice color, and was the dominant fish of a group of four discus. The two-medium sized discus I put with my three. The smallest one I put down as it seemed like it had gill flukes. I would put him in with the other discus, but my tank is only 30-gallons, and I already have five in there. I kept the orphans in a bare quarantined tank and treated them with antibiotics, parasite-killer, medicated food, and salt for three weeks, so they should be good to go in any tank. Right now they are spoiled on frozen blood worms, but they might learn to eat other foods if they are in a group with fish that eat other stuff. They will also eat from your hand, and follow you around in the tank.
