But does it also kill the daphnia? I've had sporadic outbreaks of hydra in my daphnia containers, but usually it's just an isolated container and it's usually an inside one....not in ALL my daphnia culture containers. Maybe that's why we've got 10 culture containers at work, and I've got 10 more at home (with 2 inside containers/rest are outside) + 2 pools that also have daphnia that bloom occasionally. Between all those containers, I usually have some clean ones to repopulate an infested one after cleaning it out. I've also got a few hydra right now in my red-arc pencilfish/sparkling gourami/thread-fin rainbow tank. I was curious whether the little gouramis might take hydra, but I think that may be a characteristic of the Trichogasters....my little guys left the hydra alone (grump).
