Re: [GSAS-Member] Dario dario

I'd be interested in any suggestions that Steev might have. I've been
thinking about parasites as well, but think I may have waited too long
with this female. My male Darios are so healthy looking I guess I didn't
think this female would be a problem....just need lots of live food to
plump up to breed (shrug). She only takes live food and has been in a
quarantine tank the whole time. She's gotten live daphnia and whatever
small bloodworms I can find twice a day. At least it's a nice little java
fern and rocks tank so I'm making potential Dario breeding habitat, since
the java fern has filled out nicely while she's been in there <G>.

I haven't had any of my male Darios balloon up. My 6 are still happy and
healthy....they are in a well-planted tank with a couple male honey
gouramis, 2 otocinclus and several red cherry shrimps. They've even been
taking frozen adult brine (the honey gouramis get the large females....the
little Darios take the male brine), some freeze-dried brine and
bloodworms. It kind of worries me that your female would do this over the
weekend without food...makes me worry about bacterial dropsy.

Steev???
