Re: [GSAS-Member] pH and gender

Well, umm, no, I don't, Matt, but doesn't it seem a little strange that IF the
filter is sucking up fry that it would only suck the females? (She says this
as she looks for an A/C filter to put over the intake. <G>)

Growing old is inevitable; growing up is optional.

Umm, you do have some sort of sponge or screen over the intake from you
power filter to ensure you're not losing fry that way, right?

Before I'd muck around with pH changes, I'd ensure good water quality and
give the fry a real good chance to survive - best might be isolate gravid
females in a java-moss packed-tank and feed small foods like artemia
nauplii. I maintained Endlers' (my nick: EndleSS livebearer) for something
like 10 years this way. Biggest problem was finding homes for the extra
fish. Sometimes, it's handy to have a turtle or other cull machine, to.

Too bad GSAS doesn't have a BaP, then everyone would want Endler's
livebearers and other easy fish :-)
