Re: [GSAS-Member] Broken glass cover

THis is my somewhat subjective loach opinion and experience ;->

Clowns pretty and great fun to watch. They really do "clown around" when
keep in groups. I kept 6 in 125 gallon tank and they were a hoot. Death on
snails and known for keeping you entertained with thier "clicking" when
feeding. Course they will get large in time. My experience is that they can
be very susceptible to ick but can treat safely and successfully with half
dose "ick clear" I would watch closely for ick when first get them, if came
from enviornmennt like fish store where they may have been very stressed.

YoYo and relatives. Fun, pretty, love snails and don't get too large but I
had experience with several that as aged, tended to suck at sides of flat
surfaced fish and slow moving fish. Therefore, I stopped keeping them. I am
sure they could never catch up with a silver dollar but did serious damage
to my large angles.

Coolies are my favorite. They too love snails and harm no one. They are
known for being secretive and getting out small holes along edges of tank
cover but I never had trouple with escapees. I bribed mine with sinking
wafters so they would show up day or night. I used to keep one or two in lot
of my tanks as ground keepers. Don't seem to bother live bearer fry. Don't
know about egg layer fry, but expect they would eat any that are tiny and
traveling close to substrate. I commonly would see gravid females but never
attempted to breed and although it sometimes seemed like I had more than I
remembered buying, I never was sure that they were surviving fry.
