Re: [GSAS-Member] angelfish egg advice

Thank you Steev. I think the parents are good parents. The last 2 spawns were not that successful and I'm pretty sure it is because I had just moved them into a different tank. Now they seem comfortable in their home. I was going to remove the slate last night and didn't have the heart to. They were both doing such a nice job fanning the eggs, I decided to just let them be and see what happens. I'd rather just let fish do it naturally. Thank you for your advice.

Monica

Monica:
You could take the eggs out now, but if they are fairly good parents
(that means they don't eat the eggs) you might as well leave the eggs in
there until late wednesday, when they will be ready to hatch. That
allows the parents to do the job of fanning the eggs, etc.
Or you might just let the fry hatch out in the parent tank and then
siphon some out to raise separately, leaving some with the parents so
they don't have a big fight over whose fault it was that the eggs got
taken (that seems to happen often after you remove the eggs).
Anyway, you can always try something different next time.
