Would it be alright to join in on one meeting before joining the club? The holidays have messed up the meeting schedule as of late, and I assume our next meeting will end up being in Feb. For me, killies have been very addictive. But I find that a balance becomes struck between time and space. The two tanks you have might satisfy your urge. ;) I generally keep all mine in species only tanks. For most of the annuals I keep, all the females look alike... so I would not be able to separate them out later if I wanted to. Better to keep species separate.
