I use Eco-Complete in my 90 and I would describe it as more like small gravel than sand. There are very few small grains in it, and fish that like to dig in sand will have a hard time with it. You can see some in this picture. The ram is about 1" above the substrate, so those grains are pretty big. It also has no 'sparkle' like the Tahitian black sand.
