If anybody bred angelfish for fighting, he would be a winner. A real Alpha fish. John On Sep 6, 2006, at 9:33 PM, Holly wrote: Thank you for the advice, everybody. I will see what I can do at my new apartment... I might have a 29g for sale as well. We shall see! Oh God, John.. I can't believe it. Well, I can... But I thought your fish was going to be able to stand up to him. Is he not the most disgruntled fish ever? I'm glad you like him for his looks, if not his personality! :) Holly -----Original Message----- From: gsas-member-bounces@thekrib.com [mailto:gsas-member-bounces@thekrib.com] On Behalf Of John Ruhland Sent: Wednesday, September 06, 2006 6:05 PM To: Greater Seattle Aquarium Society member chat Subject: Re: [GSAS-Member] Tank on a refrigerator? If you put some sturdy boards on the refrigerator, like a couple of old 2x8's or thicker underneath the tank, the tank should be OK, and the sides of the refrig. should be strong enough to support it. Holly, I had to move your clown angel to his own tank. After the first week with my other angel, he was so abusive that my angel started to get lesions on his body. Fortunately they all cleared up by the next day after moving yours. He's so nice looking that I'll just keep him in his own tank. Depends on the fridge, but I wouldn't, unless you keep the 29 half full :-) If the surface area is the same for a tank (a 15 is 1 foot by 2 feet, a 29 is 30" by 1 foot, usually), the depth doesn't matter for most fish. It's why killi people keep so many fish in shoeboxes and so forth -> they have the same footprint as much larger tanks, yet 'detritus tolerant' fish like killies don't really need the extra volume. This works for most fish, too. Big waste producing, "thick" fish like cichlids, goldfish and catfish do benefit from the extra gallonage, though. "The solution to pollution is dilution" in their case (though I'd still opt for max surface area over depth.)
