I stopped to take a look at the pond this morning and don't see any more fish in there. A few may still be lurking, and I'll keep checking, but I think a majority of them are rescued. Looks like close to 50 fish came out of that pond in total. 17 are small - around 1.5" and I'm holding them in a 10 gallon tank doing 50% daily water changes. The sponge filter in there won't be able to handle all that nitrogenous waste since I am feeding these little ones!!!! I can hold these till the next meeting....and bring in what I don't want to keep (probably at least 10-12 babies). And I'm keeping the prettiest ones (wink). The rest will go to my ex-neighbor on Friday unless other arrangements are made. I'd REALLY like to keep the big shubunkins but I have no room for such large fish (sigh). They are gorgeous! This isn't the time in my life to start setting up big Rubbermaid stock ponds which will just have to be moved when I find my new place (sigh).
