Actually I think they are tubifex, though of the 'giant long stringy variety'. 
I've seen them get big before and the worm isn't segmented.
I got some too - Susan did you get some of the Bacopa? That was the only plant 
I purchased and the worms were on it. Whoever brought those plants in, well, 
thanks for the gift(?). You might want to do some major tank renovation...
