Re: [GSAS-Member] FW: Interested in acquiring your brine shrimp eggs

I feed the bleach eggs to my Peacock Gudgeons without hatching them. I was
told that you can't over bleach the eggs. I don't have septic to worry
about. I'd rather use vinegar if that actually works, though.

Yep, it stinks to do (figuratively and literally.) I throw eggs away that
won't hatch without bleaching. Some people are cool with it and have been
doing it for years.

Not me - too much bleach, vinegar, blah de blah. I was also always concerned
that dumping bleach, even if 'neutralized' through Vinegar or whatever,
wasn't good for my home' septic system. Perhaps overly so, but I didn't use
chlorine bleach for anything else with any regularlity.

It *can* be done. *You* might be successful at it. I found it too smelly,
tedious and nasty to bother with. The hobby is supposed to be for fun as it
is and there are enough dubious odors already involved.

I am finding out more about getting these eggs from China. Turns out my old
East Coast club might be getting in on an order being placed by the NY
aquarium, so I might go that way and get a friend to pick up a few cans for
me. Getting a 20 case order, and working through the shipping challenges
(pickup at the dock? Delivery? Bonding? Getting the money to China? etc.) is
more than I think I can handle. ANyone have any contacts at the Seattle
Aquarium? I wonder if they buy brine shrimp eggs and had some way to handle
such a big order. The prices are quite good, Sanders and Jehmco for 90% eggs
want around $25-30 per 15oz. can, these Chinese eggs are less than 1/2 that
