Actually, I was surprised how many arowanas I saw in the wild.  They can 
jump really high but of course were too fast to get any pictures of.  Trust 
me, I wanted to collect fish so badly!  The boat we were on goes to the more 
remote areas of the rio negro.  I could have just dipped my boot in and it 
would have filled up with tetras at one point.  It was killing me not being 
able to collect any.  One of the guides and I seemed to be the only fish 
people on board.  :(  He was wonderful and did point out every fish he saw 
to me.
