What is a "regular" aquarium thermometer?  You keep more tanks than anyone I
know, Steev.  You should have a well informed opinion.

I use the regular aquarium thermometer you buy for about $2. They seem
plenty accurate
enough for me. I check the calibration by holding it in my mouth for five
minutes or so
when I'm not running a fever. As a backup you can teach yourself how to tell
the
temperature with your finger (when not running a fever). Go to Susan's house
to
practice with her infra-red.
