Re: [GSAS-Member] Has Anyone in the Club Ordered from Amano?

Oh Boy.....

I love the Amano tanks and already set aside money for it as of last night.
Interesting how the stands costs more than the tanks from ADG. From the pic
Erik sent, looks like he has one. It is no different than the high end
windows that some of us buy for our homes - no frame edges that wrap in a
corner office of the home (anyone else ever work in a corner office,
columbia tower downtown - same deal)?. All the links people sent out are
breathtaking, and I am ready to trade my soul for an extra cornerless tank.
I'll need some help in making it look just perfect too.

I find it interesting that Erik states no one has proven the benefits from
underwater heating cables. I thought these studies were proven long ago. I
guess I am biased being raised and born in Germany, but Dupla or not, it has
always been shown to be best for a planted tank from what I have read and
experienced. I agree Dupla names their stuff weird, thts how we roll in
Germany.... must be different than the trademarked 'Venti' coffee startbucks
trademarked or something - nothing weird about that.

I have been working on something 1 step ahead of ADG for a couple years now,
so here it is with a twist: http://kangar.eu/pics/large/DSCN0899.JPG .
It has been pretty hard to find a manufacturing firm, to make a round
structure in a clear acrylic (unlike the image, which is PVC round tub).
Imagine an amono style tank, round, 4 feet in diameter, 3 feet tall.
Completely clear. You can go reef, or planted freshwater. This is a
extremely possible to build. 200 watt halide, 5600-10k bulb pendant in the
middle above it lights everything perfectly.

Now THAT is a planted or saltwater tank.. Curves are better than sqaures.
Never considered production quantity, just 1.

I hope to make it tuesday, so some of you can say glad to meet you, or I am
going to take you out back and beat you.
