>> Alright, true confessions time everyone..HOW MANY >> TANKS TO YOU HAVE???!!! We have one tank... ...Upstairs. It's a very pretty cylindrical acrylic tank 2' diameter, 2' high. We just added CO2 to it after Luis was here. Downstairs we've got a 75 gallon planted tank (2x54W T5 + 2x55W PC, CO2, fertilizers) that's looked like !*@& ever since I replaced the substrate with an ex-member's used Flourite (that I overpaid for and appears to have been mixed with large rocks and possibly reptile waste -- I am looking forward to replacing it with Turface!), another 75 with breeding Julidochromis ornatus, a 60 which will eventually house a colony of Neolamprologus leleupi, a 45 gallon with a plastic bin sitting on top of it with emersed Anubias rehabilitating from years of neglect, and an array of 12 20-gallon tanks with various fish and plants (four of which have CO2, four of which are high pH, and four of which are low-tech fry grow-out tanks that haven't seen fry in years). As an aside, not to trash on used substrates as a whole -- five or six of the tanks have used Flourite from June Olberding (another GSAS member who left the hobby five or so years ago to become a nomadic adventurer with her husband & sold off her entire planted fishroom piece by piece). Where the flourite from the nameless ex-member has produced nothing but algae, the flourite from June has, over the years, spontaneously sprouted a variety of Cryptocorynes, to the point where there is now a pretty forest in several tanks. I hope to have them in nice shape for the home show. The garage is doing much better thanks to the last two general auctions. I think I've got a 10, a 15, a 20-long and a 40 acrylic left. We've got enough scrap glass to build five more tanks. Does that count? :) - Erik -- Erik Olson erik at thekrib dot com _______________________________________________ GSAS-Member mailing list GSAS-Member@thekrib.com http://lists.thekrib.com/mailman/listinfo/gsas-member
