Hey all, I have a quick question for everyone. How big of a tank do you need to have before you should put some sort of reinforcement under your floor for the weight? I ask this because I have a 150 gal tank that I know needs to be supported (and is) but I'm moving to a new house next month and I don't want to add support to the upper floor where I plan on having the tank. So, I'm going to downsize. I'm thinking about a nice, manageable 29 gal hex or maybe a 55(?) gal hex on a side table of sorts. Is a 29 gal hex is big enough to support a breeding pair of Pel. taeniatus? What do you think? On a side note, I'll be sending out a message in the near future looking to sell off most of what I currently have in the 150 gal tank including tons of live plants (annubias nanas, crypts, a giant sword plant, etc.), fishies (a nice green discus, 3 roseline sharks, bosemani rainbows, and a fair bit more), perhaps some gravel mixed with flourite, and other stuff. Anyway, thanks for your input everyone. Oh, and the P. taeniatus just bred and paraded the fry around the tank last night, so I'll be looking for homes for the fry too in the next few weeks. -----Scott R.
