>BUT I think that bloodworms that sit in the tank for a while before being eaten can give the fish problems - that would be true of any food, but more so for some. Occassionally a fish has a digestive problem (like a blockage) after eating a lot of bloodworms, but that is usually only in small fish. I'm extracting whatever I think may apply to my own situation here with Dario dario <G>: When I feed frozen bloodworms, I pop out one of the cubes, put it in a custard cup with water, and swirl it around until thawed. Then I take a eye dropper and suck up 2-3 small pieces that aren't too big for a Dario dario and squirt them in front of the fish. They are so used to taking frozen brine, that they eat them right up. Nothing is laying around. And I try to make sure they get small enough pieces so they go down easily. I wasn't as careful with honey gouramis size-wise. I can't feed a whole cube of frozen bloodworms to Dario dario, so I take the rest of the custard cup with floating wormies and feed them to my downstairs tanks. Whiteclouds will scarf them up in no time and the loaches love them as well. Time from frozen to in-a-fish-stomach is usually no longer than 10 minutes (especially if this is in the morning before work). None of those guys bloated and died (sigh).
