Re: [GSAS-Member] Do Koi eat plants?

I dont want to sound like I am arguing with Macker, but in my (very limited,
admittedly) experience these little guys havent done much mucking around at
all in my tanks. Maybe they are too small yet, or dont need to because I
have been feeding them well, or the plants themselves arent delicious enough
(najas grass, java fern, java moss, baby tears, even duckweed). Even the
first three that Steev gave me when we sorted the pond in ths spring didnt
seem to tear up anything, and they were twice the size of these fry and then
some, although those seemed to like the duckweed more. And, also in my very
limited experience, fish seem to be a lot like dogs; find a way to keep them
busy and they stay out of trouble; let them be bored and they will
enevitably find a way to entertain themselves, and it will most likely be
something you dont want them to do.

In the end, this is just my .02, so take it for what it is worth.
Connie
