I think Lake Washington has a different species (Eurasian milfoil - M. spicatum). Here's a quick look at the two parrotfeather versions I've purchased from aquatic plant sources: http://www.pondplants1.com/floating/floating_pond_plants.htm I thought they were the same species, but these are M. aquaticum and m. brasiliensis. But, if cabomba ends up being hardy for me, that's MY pick. I'd sure take it over hornwort (which has proven hardy for me...but it lacks enthusiasm). So far, I've not had cambomba die back in any of my systems whereas hornwort either LOVES a tank or it HATES it. Sometimes it's really hard to figure out WHY, but I've read it has to do with iron availability (shrug).
