Shango, if you haven't changed your bulbs in 2 years you dont have 4.5
watts/gal. anymore. That could effect/slow your vascular plant growth
and therefore allow the black hair algae to increase. You may or may
not know that, you cant completely get rid of any algae. All you can do
is manage it.
