Shango, Light is sort of like the gas pedal, it determines the speed at which the plants can grow. If you don't have enough fuel (CO2/Ferts) then the whole thing can crash. A common side effect of too much light is algae in the tank. Stunted plant growth can also occur when there is too much light. Basically the plants have two forces "pulling" in opposite directions. On the one hand they have lots of light = fast growth. On the other they may not have enough CO2/ferts = slow(er) growth. Result?
