This past winter (so far) has been rougher on my outside goldfish/shubunkins than I expected. And that's after the great blue heron debacle. I've already brought my remaining old comets inside after losing my big white one, and they were in a whiskey barrel sized 'pond' and were easier to net out. I've lost one shubunkin (about 7" fish) in my 100g stock tank and sure don't want to lose more. I was thrilled when a co-worker offered me an old scratched algae-crusted acrylic 55g tank! PERFECT! I can move the tank myself (sure can't do that with a glass 55g) and can make room in the garage. So, if I can get that tank before this weekend, I know how I'll be spending those 3 days....draining 3 stocktanks all 100g or larger! I may have lost all the shubunkins to either GBH and ice in the other whiskey-barrel pond, but I'll empty that one too. And my Siberians will have another distraction to watch in the garage when I'm at work (grin).
