Couldn't one say the exact same thing about wild-collecting fish? The kid is already learning about invasives with things like our frogs -- he knows that if what we got were bullfrogs, then we can't let em go. He's learned firsthand that we can't keep a pet ladybug in the house because there's no food supply in the form of aphids this time of year. We're probably going to grow a bunch of butterfly-friendly plants in the front yard to attract species. But heck yeah, we'll raise them.
