Macker: Congratulations! I agree with Erik in that true cables are out of favor as they tend to be low voltage and can make a simple move a mess if the roots are tangled. I would love to have one for my immersed crib set-up but only because the water level is < 1". I finally put a normal heater in today so the issue may be moot. The controller you linked to is a gem. Looks like you can heat/cool so you will want that on your reef to prevent fighting. You can also use this with a normal type heater where you set the temp a few * high and let the controller work. If the controller fails the water is a little warm. If the heater fails the tanks is absolutly normal. Great stuff.
