I know when I got my red cherry shrimp from Susan W. she suggested using salts in the water. It was only when I got lazy and stopped using those salts that they started breeding (weak grin). I toss in some cuttlebone bits on a regular basis but that's about it. Right now they are breeding best in a 29g tank that is moderately planted, with Endler's, otocinclus, a couple orange hatchetfish, and Botia sidthimunki! Who would have guessed they'd even have survivors from babies released in THAT tank ?!?!?! The Endler's fry predator female Betta passed away after about ~3-4 years just last week. I toss in flake food and some bottom feeder tabs on a daily basis but that's about it....half the time the biowheel filter gets clogged and there's no filtration. I do half-hearted waterchanges periodically (when I need water for the plants out in the hallway).
