Lily pad rhizomes are free for the grabbing anywhere close to the UW Arboretum... I picked up two small ones last week (but I confess I went under the *its easier to get forgiveness than it is to get permission* premise, and made sure they were small ones I could carry out inconspicuously). Park at MOHAI & walk the path, but bring something waterproof footwear to walk in this time of year, or just get wet. Only place I have ever seen water lettuce for sale is at that really cool pond place in Redmond. Surely another local pond place has water lettuce too.
