I don't have beautiful plants as you have, but same as you I use calcium chloride and epsom salt in a 4:1 ratio to increase the hardness of the water. The hardness of the water is 4dH and I add CaCl2 and Epsom salt to increase the hardness to 6 dH. I use the EI method so I make weekly 50% water change, that means that I increase the water hardness weekly. Same time I increase the alkalinity from 4 KH to 6 KH by adding baking soda. You may calculate how much CaCl2, epsom salt and baking soda you need to add,but my advice is to use a GH and a KH tester to find out how much of these substance you need to add. _______________________________________________ GSAS-Member mailing list GSAS-Member@thekrib.com http://lists.thekrib.com/mailman/listinfo/gsas-member
