Hello Friends, Thanks to everyone who has already sent their RSVP and potluck donations. We are going to have some amazing food again this year! The summer picnic has gotten even hotter with the donation several plants and some adolescent Albino Ancistrous for our picnic raffle. The first donation was a set of elongated tweezers for planting small and delicate aquarium plants. Looks like they are about 6, 8 and 12 inch sizes. All stainless steel. The picnic raffle is free but you must be present to win. Come eat some great grub, talk fish and plants and possibly with useful swag! Also remember that folks often bring extra plants and such from their tanks to just give away. I know I have a special bag of goodies that I have held just for this event. This is a super casual, very relaxed event. Please come out and participate! Last year there was an impromptu fish and plant sharing too. No auction, just members giving each other extras. The picnic is on Saturday, July 25th from 11am until 2pm. The location is the beautiful Picnic Area #4 at Woodland Park . This is right next to the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle's Phinney Neighborhood. The Park: http://www.seattle.gov/parks/park_detail.asp?ID=292 Picnic Site Directions: http://www.seattle.gov/parks/_images/maps/picnics/Woodland4-7.pdf Picnic Site Photos: http://www.seattle.gov/parks/Reservations/picnics/Woodland4.pdf The GSAS provides hot dogs, hamburgers, condiments and soda pop/water along with cups, plates, napkins and plasticware. PLEASE volunteer to bring that dish you make so well...or not so well! We are looking for all sorts of side dishes. Simply email me back with what you would like to bring. Participation is the key ingredient to our successful picnic! Yes! This is a kid positive event. Please remember that City parks are closed to alcohol and act accordingly. I look forward to seeing you all there. Pray for sun!
