Pacus will grow up and eat the crayfish. Tinfoil barbs and pacus will eat plants (big time.) I think if you want a tankbuster-type tank, you should consider large new world cichlids. Frontosa are gorgeous fish, but they're still rift lakers: basically shy and devoid of personality. I've had groups of 15+ mpimbwe blues in a 125, and they're actually kinda dull. Think "Really big dumb blue tetras" and you pretty much cover most of the bigger rift lake species. Though, if you could get them, Boulengichromis microlepis would be cool (and want the tank to themselves.) I think they're only rarely kept. Something new world like trimaculatum, zonatum, argenta are great. Dovii would take to a huge tank like that, though you could only have a pair and lots of rocks. New world cichlids with big rocks and some gravel, no plants, would be cool. The 'red bay snook' (Cichla ocellaris) is interesting. When they breed, the number of eggs is kind of astounding (like multiples-of-thousands.) They get pretty violent with their tankmates, though, no matter what the size. We really should get Mel the big cichlid ghod that lives in Wallingford to give a talk. He's got an awesome cichlid room full of really big cichlids and breeds many interesting species. Another possibility, is lots of small->medium sized new world cichlids like the firemouth complex and texas cichlids/dempseys. Tons of personality and with a big crowd you'll get all sorts of sparring for territories and mates. A big tank with a lot of small/medium sized fish would really be entertaining. Oscars, of the non-mutant varieties, are always a possibility new world. Actually, I'll admit I don't despise the albino oscar as much as long finned/gold/blech hybrids of that fish, but the normal varieties o.k. _________________________________________________________________ Hotmail: Trusted email with Microsoft’s powerful SPAM protection. http://clk.atdmt.com/GBL/go/177141664/direct/01/ _______________________________________________ GSAS-Member mailing list GSAS-Member@thekrib.com http://lists.thekrib.com/mailman/listinfo/gsas-member
