Safer to just put the fish in a bucket. No plants, no nothing. It should be fine. Who knows what's in the 'sparse' breeding tank (one wonders why it's sparse...) And starve the fish for a day or two so it doesn't poop. If you're really concerned, put in a chunk of polyfilter to absorb any ammonia. Collecting in Mexico with containers crammed with goodeids, all we did was keep polyfilter with them and do an occasional water change with whatever was convenient. We used buckets of various sizes. Fortunately it was November and the weather was on the cool side. You'd be surprised how much 'gruft' comes out of the water with a little polyfilter in it. When we collected a location of Allotecas, the water was *opaque*, loaded with suspended clay (the area was awful - runoff from a road, snakes and the occasional scorpion in sight.) By the next day, the water was clear and the fish were fine. _________________________________________________________________ Hotmail: Free, trusted and rich email service. http://clk.atdmt.com/GBL/go/171222984/direct/01/ _______________________________________________ GSAS-Member mailing list GSAS-Member@thekrib.com http://lists.thekrib.com/mailman/listinfo/gsas-member
