I've seen Silver Dollars eat plastic plants, but maybe that's uncommon. They don't actually swallow the pieces - just spit them out and let them float around the tank. I would think that they would eat Crinums. (I've had Festivum cichlids eat Anubias, which surprised me.) I read a forum post from another keeper that said in his experience they won't eat crinums though. I'd like to find some. I hear anubias are safe too but anubias has always grown so slowly for me that it may as well be made of plastic. So far they seem to be leaving a sword alone, but we'll see what happens when the other snacks are gone.
