Reminds me of our late departed feline Snickers who would eat anything in the 
plant family (including the dried tops of garlic buds). All our our plastic 
plants have her teeth marks in them.

  I've seen Silver Dollars eat plastic plants, but maybe that's uncommon. They 
don't actually swallow the pieces - just spit them out and let them float 
around the tank.

  I would think that they would eat Crinums.

  (I've had Festivum cichlids eat Anubias, which surprised me.)

  My silver dollars make a beautiful little school, but man, they eat just
  about anything green. I read a forum post from another keeper that said in
  his experience they won't eat crinums though. I'd like to find some. I hear
  anubias are safe too but anubias has always grown so slowly for me that it
  may as well be made of plastic.

  So far they seem to be leaving a sword alone, but we'll see what happens
  when the other snacks are gone. O.o
