I had the same difficulty with nerites laying eggs all over the place. In my
research I haven't read anything to suggest that they stop at any point.
Mine certainly didn't. I guess it's just one of the cons of that kind of
snail. As far as decomposition of the eggs, good luck. The eggs seemed to
stay around forever in my tank, long after the snail had died.
