Jeff, I've used inert substrates with some success and about a year ago, finally tried Aquasoil. It really does live up to the hype but I'm really anxious to try what I've seen in this tank: http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/tank-journals-photo-album/81223-legos-20-long-journal-rescape-progress.html. This guy uses plain potting soil, capped with playfield sand and has had amazing results. I'm definitely doing my next planted tank this way because with results like that, I no longer see the need to spend 5x as much on Aquasoil! -Tara > From: jeff@gotperk.com > To: gsas-member@thekrib.com > Date: Sun, 6 Dec 2009 18:17:41 -0800 > Subject: Re: [GSAS-Member] GSAS Home Show 2010......On Your Mark; Get Set; > Go! > > Sounds great Roy, what do you recommend for substrate?
