Hey Matt, I don't remember all what you had in your tank but some possible upper and middle water candidates could be in the tetra group: Moenkhausia pitteri (silver tetra) or M. sanctaefilomenae. Thayeria obliqua ( the less aggressive cousin of the penguin tetra), and the slightly more boisterous Hemigrammis caudovittatus (Buenos Aires tetra). Pink tail chalceus (Chalceus macrolepidotus) dont move around alot and are medium sized predators. I agree with Steev that rasboras are also a very good candidate, they're hardy and easy to take care of. R. borapetensis or R. trilineata among others would be good. And if your into slow moving, more 'elegant' fish, a good medium sized gourami might fit the bill. Again, I say all this not knowing what you have in your tank. Good Luck
