Yes, isn't it cool!!!I was surprised on Christmas by discovering that my Taenaicara candidi (aka Apistogramma weissmani) had a new spawn in the same tank as the Bristlenose mom and Dad (and about 50 of their fry from several batches).
Then to top it off my Apistogramma baenschi "inka" had juvenilles as well! I knew they were spawning but never saw the fry until yesterday!!!
It was really a surprise and quite cool. It is so fun to discover babies. For my bristlenose pleco's they albino's were albino from the start (also the mom) and the dark guys were paler but colored up well. It is funny but the albino's have always been easier for me to catch. They have been more on the glass than the dark ones which are hanging out on the wood more.

Pleco Papa after multiple tries has finally succeeded in getting fry out into the world! A little past fry at this stage - up on the side of the aquarium eating, slightly bigger than 1/2inch. This is a heavily planted community tank so I did not think I would ever get fry grown up in it! The count is up to five so far although I bet there are others hidden. It is a bit hard to tell but it looks like Momma might be the albino - I'll have to wait a bit to be sure but three of the 5 are much lighter. These are my first Pleco babies. I often luck out with fry of all types- they seem to appear when my tanks has not been cleaned so there is a decent growth of algae for them to eat! Hopefully they will get along - I did end up with a clump of food this morning so need to do a water change tomorrow.....bummer. Merry Christmas!
