Re: [GSAS-Member] Problems with my new tank (and the imminent revocation of my new GSAS membership)

Thanks, Steev. Three questions: One, I was wondering about the cost-benefit
of stopping feeding. The fish actually look fine now -good color, no
clamped fins etc so I am thinking the ammo lock worked and was concerned
that it would be more stressful for them not to be eating. Second, I remain
confused about my ammonia reading. It still shows really high but
the instructions in the API (I think) kit I am using said that it will
continue to read high even though the ammo-lock has neutralized the bad (I
assume the ionized - is that the right term ?) ammonia. I don't understand
whether it will read zero when both the bad and the good ammonia or gone or
whether using the ammo-lock permenantly screws up the reading. Third, do I
need to take the carbon out of my filters if I am just relying on salt?

The ich seems to be fairly contained (just a couple of spots on a couple of
fish which seem to be decreasing and not seeming to spread to other fish)
but I am downloading your presentation on bit torrent now.
