Re: [GSAS-Member] Black rubber "heater" hose from McLendon Hardware

I've been rethinking my setup and was talking with Jimmy at Aquarium Plus - he brought up some good points and got me worried enough that I just ordered some water filters and drinking water safe hose for my water changes.  I'm a little concerned about copper and one of my shrimp tanks with white neocardina and Hong Kong bumble bee shrimp.  Now I'm down to wondering how much lead is transfered by 4 feet of hose from the facet and two brass fittings...

If it isn't pure vinyl or FDA approved for drinking water, I'm a little leary.  Maybe I could buy a bulk order of high quality 5/8" vinyl and do a sell by-the-foot at the auction next month.

Likewise.  If it's not considered safe enough for my drinking water, I try
to avoid it using it anywhere in the tank.  Sorry you're having the
problem :-(
