It depends on what you're standard is. I don't think that it is _at all_ apparent that an "average" aquascape should be 50%. 50% of the best that is shown? Or 50% of what the judges think is ideal? Or is it even 50% at all? We were talking arbitrary points, not percent. You can look at each set of points as a percentage of the whole score, but a total "percentage" score is meaningless. The purpose of the scoring system should be to help assess each tank relative to the others in the contest, no more, no less. If you decide that a specific tank is "the best" based on what you are seeming to say, it should receive 100%. What happens when someone presents a clearly better tank next year? This is all very subjective, and I think it pays to keep that in mind at all times.
