This surprised me as well, but the folks who suggested that made some good points about it being easier, so perhaps this makes sense. If this is the way we go, though, I think we should do something special for best of show, like a plaque or trophy. Personally, I find certificates to be cheap (in the deragatory sense), and ribbons not much better, but a book, for instance, is something I'd keep, and can be stamped with the award type.
