Re: Categories & PDF

Just my two cents, though I think I brought it up before...
I think it would be cool to have the catagories "standardized" a bit before hand rather than adjusted later. E.g. it seems more fair to have a 20 compared to a 30 rather than a 2.5 compared to a 20, yet they were lumped together that way last year.

Also, I can give an updated email address for the contact of the Bucks County Aquarium Society if you haven't received a response back from them.

Also, is there anything I can do to help? It seems everyone is getting busy with different things, and so far I haven't helped one bit!!

OK, I think I've got a handle on the making of pdf files using Acrobat
Distiller. I'm going to base this year's material pretty much on last
year's - it was done very nicely so no major changes are needed.

EXCEPT, for "categories". As I understand it, there were no "artificial"
entries submitted and the sizing was changed. If it worked well, fine - we
should probably go with what worked last year. Erik, please let me know what
numbers to use for the different categories.

I'm also going to add in the garden pond category - but will make both it
and the botanical art separate from the aquascaping categories.

We should probably get at least one judge to deal exclusively with the
garden ponds - totally separate from the aquascaping and perhaps merely
state that award(s) in the pond category will be separate from the
aquascaping categories.

I don't feel any need to speak too much about competition in the botanical
art category - we can see what kind of entries we get (if any).

Thoughts????

James
