Hi All,

I want to congratulate GWAPA on a very nicely run convention.  The timing of 
the talks were just right and allowed a lot of time for people to interact, 
which was missing from last year's convention.  Another suggestion that we 
might think about for next year is redoing the format for the auction.  As a 
runner/worker/helper this year, I didn't have much of an opportunity to much 
bidding on the plants I was interested for my tanks at home.  Just too busy 
and time was short because of travel.

So, I'd suggest that we have a for sale table of plants that were shipped in 
from donors during the convention.  I know this may not generate as much 
money as the auctions, but if the plants are stuff like crypts, anubias, 
etc. from some place like FAN or other plant sellers, we could charge close 
to retail, but at a discount - say 10-20% off.  Also, we could have bidder 
sheets for some of the rare stuff and let people bid on the plants until the 
morning of the auction.  This could help cut down on some of the number of 
plants we had in the auction.  The sheer number of plants this year was 
daunting!  We just didn't have much time to sell everything and the rarer 
stuff in the auction was diluted due to the number of plants.

Just a thought on my end.  This is of course open to discussion.  We do need 
to improve the format however.
