I think that is exactly what has to be done. And that's where Erik
started. He contacted the NEC management to get their permission first,
and was told that they did not allow taping. So he didn't even bother
pursuing Claus' permission. I know that if NEC had agreed, he would have
next asked Claus.

Janine Banks actually called me earlier this evening, just to clarify the
NEC position. They are concerned that if a tape is made, that ANY time
that tape is out of their hands, (let alone on the web!) there is always
the potential for the tape to be misused or re-recorded and used in an
inappropriate manner. They do not want to even have to worry about one of
their speaker's material being used in inappropriately. Having seen
"misunderstandings" of this sort happen, I can see their reluctance.

She also brought up yet another point that Erik and I had overlooked, and
that is the audience. Sometimes having a camera there stops camera shy
people from even asking a question for fear of appearing "stupid" on the
tape.

All in all, I think that when (if) we get around to it, that CD ROM "slide
shows" with prepared scripts would be a safer and more polished approach to
"canned" material for AGA to distribute.
