I'm still comin'!) if we we end up with too many, and particularly if we could get George interested, since I think in many ways, our methods are similar. Same with you and me, Neil, our philosphy and approach is not different enought that we would both need to speak unless we _need_ another speaker. If I _am_ needed, I can change the slant of my program in a number of different ways. I've done them emphasizing nutrition, plant ID or planted aquariums and for educational use. (this is some times a good way to give "beginner tank" info without billing it as such) I think the "important" speakers we have committed at this point are David because of his expertise on lighting, Charlene because of her public aquarium expertise, and Paul because none of us has heard him before.<g> I also think if Diana will speak, it would be particularly good because of her book. If she's reluctant because she doesn't have slides and would like to use some, I'm sure we can help her out in that department. Karl Schoeler might be another interesting viewpoint. I know that as well as a planted tank hobbyist, he is a chemist by profession, and has done a good amount of research for his products. Let's at least try to get him there, even if we can't use him as a speaker this time. Another person we should probably formally invite, though I'd like to put off using him as a speaker until we do the "real thing" next year is the guy from FAN. (What's his name again?) I think it would be very good to get him in on the ground floor of the next "International Summit". Of the several others of us who speak regularly, we all have (I think ;-) interesting talks, but many of us are in basic agreement in terms of methodology. As Neil said, it's a wonderful predicament to be in that we have more _excellent speakers available than we can use, but that is likely to be the case at any special interest event like this. (look at all the speakers who were at NEC and were NOT speaking!) Besides, we are going to need that pool to draw from for future years if this is successful. > ... then decide on number of speakers and specific >AGA/TNAQ 2000 activities for subsequent ads. This is a BIG and long-term project for AGA, and her input on the list could be very important.
