I wasn't asking you specifically for the details, but when they are decided
on, I was volunteering to write it up.<g>

I'm willing to give my input into the decision making process, and am more
than willing to do my share, but I'm not spearheading this... I've got to
much else on my plate.

My feeling is that splitting the crowd in two for this "dry run" exercise
might be spreading ourselves too thin. I think it's easy enough to have
something for everybody in most talks. I wouldn't be against a single
"beginners" talk, but the whole point of this (I think) is to provide
information at a higher level that people can then go home and share in
their local areas. Maybe the "beginner" talk could be scheduled early in
the day to give novices a little background that they could use to make
better sense of higher level talks later in the day. I'd lean in the
direction of the 5-6 speakers running one at a time. Remember though, that
we also HAVE to schedule in a planning meeting for the following year.

OK, that's 6 or 7 names, but it doesn't include you, Erik or Mary. That
makes it 9 or 10. We're going to have to pare it down some.<g>

I think that a new "convention committee is in order. It has been a long
range goal of AGA for quite a while now. We've got someone who's
interested, let's let her run with it!

Well, I can say for sure how the to committees were originally designed.
The SC was the decision making body, and the MC was advisory. There seems
to have been some blurring of the lines as of late, and perhaps some feel
that this should change. But there is no doubt about how it was set up
originally. If the SC wants to change that, it should probably take the
issue to committee and vote on it.
